TRAINING AND CONSULTANCY
for Education and Care teams
ABOUT US
Autism Inclusion was founded in April 2020. We provide personalised training and consultancy to children’s services in Western Australia. Our capacity building packages focus on increasing team knowledge, skills, and confidence to include children with Autism, or similar diverse needs. Each package is designed to provide a sound foundation of knowledge, and enable educators to translate this knowledge into quality inclusive practice.
OUR TEAM
Gerdamari (Gee) van der Watt
Gee is a well-respected early childhood teacher with more than a decade’s experience in supporting children with Autism in a specialist Early Learning and Care setting in Perth. As trainer and consultant, Gee worked with mainstream Education and Care services across Western Australia to improve their capacity and capability to include all children. Tapping into her knowledge and experience across a range of developmental, behavioural, and educational approaches, Gee has guided many teams to unlock their potential to effectively support neurodiverse children, and others with complex behavioural needs.

OUR VISION
We envision an Early Childhood Education and Care sector where every service has the confidence and capacity to successfully include children with diverse needs, and their families.
OUR MISSION
To provide quality, personalised training, mentoring, and coaching that enable educators to move from awareness, to understanding, to sustained inclusive practice that effectively supports children with Autism and related conditions.

OUR SERVICES
We develop customised training and development packages in collaboration with your service management team. The content, program structure, and delivery methods are based on the desired outcomes for your team, and the children in your care.
To promote sustainable learning and quality outcomes, packages typically continue for a few months, and include a combination of the following services and resources:
Training workshops
Sessions are usually delivered after hours, and typically run for 2-hours; however, content and timeframes can be adjusted based on the needs of your team, and the children in their care
Team coaching sessions
Follow a structured coaching model and work together to clarify inclusion goals, explore options, and plan steps to implement strategies
Consultancy & Mentoring
Ongoing consultancy and mentoring provide opportunity to consolidate every educator’s capability to embed inclusive practices into their routines
Resources
Handy tools, templates, and resources are provided during training, coaching and mentoring services

INCLUSION DEVELOPMENT FUNDING
Like many others, your service could access a fully funded training and support package through the Inclusion Support Program (ISP).
The Inclusion Development Fund (IDF) provides funding to assist eligible Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services to build their capacity to include children with additional needs. There are four separate streams of IDF support, with ‘Innovative Solutions Support’ being one of the most powerful, but underutilised streams.
For more information about this funding, you can visit the IDFM website. To find out if your service is eligible, or to learn more about applying for Innovative Solutions Support, talk to your Inclusion Professional at your local Inclusion Agency
